The 34-acre historic site has been an important piece of the City of Port Moody’s physical landscape for over 100 years. Locate on the south shore of the Burrard Inlet, the site is neighboured by Rocky Point Park to the east, and the Pacific Coast Terminals to the west. The construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1886 divided the waterfront from the rest of the city. The Flavelle Oceanfront redevelopment plan will knit the community back together and provide public access to an oceanfront that is second to none.
Our vision is to create a sustainable oceanfront community in the heart of Port Moody that is unique, magical and unlike any other place. Central to this vision is providing homes for you and your families. More than that we want to create connections: to the ocean with accessible walking trails along the water’s edge, to nature with green spaces, and to the community with gathering places for residents and visitors to enjoy. We also envision a suite of different employment spaces for people to support their families and communities. The Flavelle Oceanfront Master Plan provides for this exciting transformation all within walking distance of Moody Centre Skytrain Station and the West Coast Express.
